The Novak backhand has been shaky today which is very unusual.

Wimbledon needs to join the 21st century and have electronic line calling. Way too many mistakes on critical points.

It feels like a potential passing of the torch moment coming up on Sunday with Charlie facing Novak.

Not to say that Novak isn't going to win any more slams because only a fool would make such a statement, but Charlie seems to be head and shoulders above all the other contending guys on tour.

Agreed

I am a casual tennis fan at best, but the Gentlemen's Final was riveting. Reminded me of Borg-McEnroe back in the day. Waaaay back.

I'm old enough to remember that 1980 Wimbledon final between Bjorn and Johnny Mac. Fantastic match and as far as Wimbledon is concerned, it holds the bronze medal position with silver being the 2019 Wimbledon final and gold being the 2008 Wimbledon final.

speaking of Johnny Mac ... why did the camera abruptly cut away from Alcaraz going to the pxp booth in the corner post match ... would have liked to see that quick exchange. :noidea:

I missed that as I was attending a birthday brunch for my wife and daughters and have yet to watch the 5th set. I did find this funny though as yesterday's match was carried in the States by ESPN, but as the match concluded, I'm reading that the Tennis Channel was showing professional pickleball. You'd think they might have some post-match coverage/analysis of the Wimbledon men's final with some of their contributors (Andy Roddick does some hits for them), but no lol

McEnroe made the comment in his 30 years of doing commentary, no one has ever done that (came to shake his hand) lol

Alcaraz is mobbed by his team as he climbs into his box to celebrate. He then shakes hands with John McEnroe and the rest of the commentary team on his way down.

I watch the majors. And if I see a Canuck doing well in a minor tournament I'll get the PVR to record.

I just can't sit there for 5 hours for tennis though. By recording I almost half the time because I skip the dead air between serves, much like I do between plays in my NFL viewing.

Bianca is taking on Camila Giorgi as I type - Let me just say that Camila is easy on the eyes.

Gabriel Diallo just knocked off Dan Evans 7-6 7-5. Evans was the champion two days ago in DC and is ranked #27 in the world.
