Yeah, when you read that Abanda is the youngest player admitted to the National Tennis Centre in Montreal at the age of 12, her claims of not getting a fair shake ring hollow to me. That said, I don't dispute that she has encountered some racism in her tennis travels, but the bottom line is that results matter and her career thus far has been disappointing.

Sure, Genie has fallen on hard times and will likely never be able to replicate that 2014 year when she made the semi-finals in three of the grand slams, but that's the thing, she did make a mark on the tennis world (albeit a brief one). If I stopped 100 Canadians on the street and asked them who Francoise Abanda is, I bet at most 10 of them could answer correctly.
