OT. The Defense Rests??

The defense in the Barry Bonds trial didn't call one single witness. I believe Bonds will walk, but that's partly due to the fact I don't think the prosecution can get a fair trial in S.F..

The problem I have with this decision is this is Bonds day in court & he's afraid to testify. That alone says he's guilty in my book. Obviously he doesn't care about what the public thinks, but deciding to not take the stand certainly isn't going to change the publics opinion as to whether or not he used steroids.

What are your thoughts?

A few weeks ago I stood in line behind Barry Bonds at a Walgreen's in San Francisco. I was the only person who recognized him in the store. I had to explain to the clerk who he was after he left.

But I was saying there are plenty of people that could have been picked for the jury who wouldn't have been biased because they don't know much about Barry Bonds.

I don't know who is actually on the jury but I assume they found people who were not baseball fans.

Really? During his entire time in San Francisco he was beloved their. Everywhere else he was hated.

Why don't people care about this? The Giambi brothers, AFRAUD, McGuire, Pettitte. I don't understand why people are so forgiving. These guys are CHEATERS.

I heard yesterday the NFL wants HGH testing in the next bargaining agreement. If this happens I'm not sure any teams will be able to field a team.

There are generally two reasons why the main defense witness does not testify at his own trial.

-The defense team is afraid that he will make a terrible witness (unrelatable, cold, arrogant, ect)

-The defense thinks that the prosecution hasn't put together a strong enough case to convict and there is nothing to gain from taking the stand.

Seeing how Bonds is well spoken and quite used to scrutiny and media attention I really doubt that it is the first option. I think that the defense really believes that the prosecution did not do enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Bonds new he was taking steriods.

I'm not saying that is the truth but that is why they are not having him take the stand, IMO. I don't think that they are affraid.
