Today Mikey Miss was musing about what it would take to trade Noel for Klay Thompson. Noel + 2 firsts, plus maybe more? There is only one ball with 4 starts that want the ball. Something has to give. Perhaps GS won't win as much as most predict? Would you give up that much and maybe more for a sharpshooter?

Golden State led the NBA in number of passes last year. They have a lot of stars, but they actually facilitate quite well. OKC was 5th lowest in passes. Harrison Barnes was averaging 9.6 shots per game. Curry had 20.3 and Thompson 17.3. Not hard to imagine 3 less shots per game from each of them and Durant basically then at 15.6 per game. Plus with those 3 and Green, every shot should be an easy one. Cannot double each of them.

Golden State is not trading Klay Thomson, so dumb thing to speculate about.

I think we're done making moves ... still not sure what the current rotations will be? Are we starting Simmons at the 3 or the 4? We already know that Okafor and Noel are not great compliments when together on the court ... so Noel and Embiid come off the bench with Okafor the starting 5? Maybe Embiid/Noel are good compliments to one another in the 2nd unit?

My sense is Noel and Okafor still trade bait, but nothing probably happens until trade deadline at this point.

In terms of starters, I suspect Simmons starts at the 3 with Embiid at the 5 and Okafor at 4, and Noel comes off the bench as the 4/5 swingman type role.

I still would like to get Crabbe even in a sign and trade scenario. We have mucho cap room, and need a sniper.

Iggy, it was speculated n Mikey Miss' show. No harm to speculate to make them an offer they can't refuse.

Unless Okie's "really" improved on D ... I don't know if he can stay with the smaller 4's. He had a hard enough time even staying with the 5's last season.

My thoughts on Simmons so far in the summer league ... Great passing ability! I think he will be special as a passer not just for his size, but in general. Sees the floor extremely well and can deliver passes like a champ. His ball handling off a rebound while starting the break is also very impressive ... excellent ball handing in those situations. Has shown the ability to drive a little, but does not finish strong ... too much finesse for his size/strength. Jumper is not good ... waaaay too flat. Until that improves I don't see him being any more than a 10 - 12 point scorer. This Christian Wood cat has been really impressive for an undrafted rookie ... so far he has the edge on making this team.

My prediction on Simmons' #'s his rookie season? 11 ppg 7 reb's 8 assists 1.2 steals .75 blocks

Well, as usual, we waited too long. Brooklyn signed Crabbe to a 4 year - $75M offer sheet, plus bonuses that could make it $83M. Way to go Sixers. Now, we will stink this year. Hinkie would have pounced on it.

Crabbe would have fit like a glove and we had tons of money to do it. Not only with his shooting, but he's an excellent Defensive player and still just 24 years old. Then again, the Blazers can still match it. If we would have landed Crabbe it would have just left PG as a huge need for next year's draft or free agency.

Keep our fingers crossed that Portland matches, then trades him to the Sixers for Oki or Noel.

I thought BC was doing a good job until he never offered a contract to Crabbe. A BIG mistake. They need to sign players with a future, not retreads. Is Harris just trying to be cheap, and then sell the team? A carpetbagger?

Now word that Saric is waffling. I think these guys may just be trying to get another year out of this plan. No bigs traded and no key signing. I'm not sure I can disagree with that if that's the plan.

AS Rey said, Crabbe would fit like a glove. Opportunity blown! We still do not have a sharp shooter. Simmons is a great facilitator, but can't shoot. Next year, BC better hope that he gets 2 lottery picks, and get aSG and PG of the future. I still hold out hope that a trade is in the works for a shooter for one of our bigs. Also, "IF" Embiid can play, and is over his broken foot problems, that can go a long way to make us competitive in another year.

Saric staying overseas for one more year makes a ton of sense money-wise. That's why I was so surprised that he was coming over for next season. Especially with the cap going nuts ... he won't be subject to the wage scale the following season he would have to play under this season.

I'll tell you whom I think would be a nice trade for the Sixers. Denver drafted Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley ... both 2 Guards. Their starter last season Gary Harris who's only 21 with good game (had him on my fantasy bball league this past season) could be a player whom Denver may be ok parting with for a rim protector like Noel. Much like Crabbe, he's a guy who's not a big name but has really nice upside. I'm watching the Minni-Denver summer league game and this kid would look great at our 2 spot going forward.

Is he as good a sniper as Crabbe? Then I will start watching him. If not, then I'm not trading Noel for him just for the sake of trading.

Just looking at his stats, he looks smaller than Crabbe, isn't as accurate n 3's. Is he a real good defender?

He's 3 years younger than Crabbe and has a very good offensive game. Been in the league for 2 years as opposed to 3 for Crabbe and established himself in year 2 as opposed to Crabbe who did it year 3. His defense is solid with 1.3 steals per game. I think he has the potential to be a very good 2 and the only reason Denver would even listen is that they have an excess at SG and lack an athletic rim protector like Noel.
