I think it does happen on trade night and possibly announced after a team picks for the Sixers. I think Noel is the one who ends up getting traded. He can develop into a top notch defender and fits more systems in today's game.

Some group is smoking crack on Jahlil Okafor. I guess we'll find out if it's the haters or the lovers eventually.

Cannot fathom trading a player with Tim Duncan talents.

Other than his inability to rebound, play defense, set screens, pass out of the post, he is exactly like Tim Duncan. Actually, he is more like Al Jefferson. One dimensional player.

It took Al Jefferson over 3 years to score more PPG than Okafor just did in only his 20th year on this earth.

And that's Jahlil being double teamed the entire year because the rest of the team had no scoring skills. In Jahlil's very first game it didn't take the league long to learn they had to double team him. Al Jefferson couldn't hold Okafor's jock as a 20 year old.

It's very difficult to judge Okafor off of last season. It was a tank year with very little talent around him.

Word is that the Sixers have stepped up talks with the Celtics for that #3 overall pick. Sounds like Okafor is the player likely to be traded ... and with that #3 pick if they get it PG Dunn would be the likely pick.

Dunn is the rumor, but I would be happier, I think, with Murray, who can play PG, or SG. Not sure if Dunn can shoot, but he can be a good PG. My preference is that Simmons will be a Point Forward, so I think Murray would be a better fit. Just me.

Yeah, the hot rumor is Okafor will be dealt. He's definitely no Tim Duncan, but he may turn out to be a legit 20 pt 10 rebound guy and that's worth something.

Ike Reese was joking that if they take Dunn and Simmons, they may need to just have the Shot Doctor join the Sixers staff permanently because they will have so many damn bricklayers on the roster. I mean, other than Embiid they won't have a single shooter better than d-league caliber.

I am not a fan of taking Dunn is we take Simmons at 1 ... it's become a shooting league and we take 2 guys that can't shoot? If we take Simmons I would much rather take Hield or Murray at 3 (assuming we get 3). Simmons will be dominating the ball anyhoo ... that's why you take him at 1 as a Point Forward; you don't need a traditional Point who can't hit the open shot when Simmons drives and dishes it out to him.

Yeah, he could be similar to Lebron (I said "SIMILAR", not a duplicate) to being a Point Forward. Face it, Lebron is an improved version of Magic. He could play every position on the court. Rey, I said it above, and am convinced that getting Simmons AND Murray will be the best possible picks for us. If we don't trade Okafor to the Lakers, we may get a deal done with Phoenix, especially with BC's relationship with them, and still get Murray.

Dunn or Murray? I see that Simmons has bulked up 20 lbs. He will be a taller guard rather than a forward. He is in Philly working out from what I read today.

I want absolutely no part of Murray. He cannot defend anyone. He will without question be one of the worst perimeter defenders in the NBA throughout his career and his shooting isn't enough value to overcome. Dunn is a much better projection to the league.

I hope you're right. I have confidence in ths regime with Brett, Brian, Eversley, etc., that they have scouted these guys thoroughly. I hope great days are ahead for us now.

Off the top of my head
Jason Kidd
Amare Stoudemire
Karl Malone
Jason Richardson
Kevin Garnett
Channing Frye

Just a quick look at their stats (can't see where the 2 pt shots came from though)

Channing Frye shot it better in college than the pros. His shooting averages trended downward actually.
Karl could already shoot.
Richardson shot 40% from 3 on 122 shots his last year at MSU.
Garnett has no college stats.
Kidd and Amare do look like they figured it out later.

Blake Griffin's one that actually compares to Simmons and improved his outside J in the pros ... but personally I prefer to draft guys who already have a solid J coming in. Dunn doesn't have a good J, but he is excellent at just everything else. He's just not a compliment imo to Simmons where Murray and Hield are. If Simmons is going to handle the ball a good deal of the time then it lessens the need for a traditional PG like Dunn is. Dunn's a player though ... certainly worth a top 5-8 pick imo.

Kawhi Leonard is another one. Plenty of guys learned to shoot after they made the league, they just have to show that work ethic. Remains to be seen is Simmons has that.

1) College 3 is closer than NBA of course people shoot better in college.
2) The majority of players in college are After their 18th birthday...no?

1) Where did I say otherwise? Richardson's 40% in college shows he could shoot pretty well before coming into the league.

2) So I should have said after their 20th birthday? Does that change how easy it is to teach someone to shoot?
