The Kings, or more specifically Magoof entertainment was the biggest none government employer in the area.

Although the people here weren't making it easy on them by being uptight about a new arena. We are the capital city for the largest state in the union and we can't even get one freaking professional arena built? NCAA basketball won't play here anymore, lots of artists skip Sac because of the shit arena and people here bitch like it is owed to them by private companies.

I can't say that I will actually miss basketball but I was hoping that if we got a new arena that someday we could lure a minor league hockey team here.

An agreement was reached when the Sonics left that when the NBA returned to Seattle they would get the Supersonics name back.


Good news and bad. I didn't care when the NBA left Seattle, but I know a lot of people who loved the Sonics and they were gutted. So I know what the diehard fans of the Kings are going through now and I do feel bad for them. Not that the sympathy helps any, but the situation does suck. On the good news side, buying an NBA team was the last hold up to getting the new arena built. Once the sale is complete, the NHL coming to Seattle is only a matter of time. And that is very exciting.
