Am I the only one that thinks that maybe, just maybe, this guy is being intentionally ridiculous?

To me this is satire and not an attempt at voicing one's true opinion. The quality of the writing is at odds with the over-the-top content, leading me to believe that this an (clever) attempt at humour.

That thought ran through my head...usually guys that spew out pure hatred laced with F-bombs aren't quite that articulate.

The only problem with spewing so much hatred towards such a successful franchise is that it comes off as sour grapes....

Wow. I apologize to this man for being born in a city that is very blessed as far as sporting teams go.

they’ll certainly dismiss my vitriol as jealousy and/or bitterness, because redirection prevents self-reflection. Pointing the finger somewhere else is the only way they know how to ignore their own appalling behavior and collective lack of self-awareness.

he's a genius! :rolleyes::p

So, because I was born in Pittsburgh and am a Steelers fan, I should have a moment of self-reflection on my 'appalling' behavior? He's blanketing a wee bit, don't ya think? I'm just saying that if I happened to be born in, say, Minnesota, and my parents were Vikes fans, that's where my allegiance would lie. I'm just loyal :P

There is nothing wrong with anything in your case. But someone born in St. Louis who has no affiliation with the city of Pittsburgh who may be a Steeler or Penguin fan, would be pretty lame. I hate people like that myself. But to have hatred towards fans of a team whom thats their home team is just ridiculous.

Protip: if you follow the link, you'll see this isn't an isolated article. They did seven or eight of them. It's pretty obvious they are for entertainment and satire purposes only.

I also notice they didn't do one for the Eagles. Clearly, the Eagles are so well respected and loved that the entirety of football fandom was devastated by their first round playoff defeat. It was that which caused them to skip over the Eagles in their blanket hate. Clearly. Because with a team with such fine role models as Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson, where would they ever find material?

Am I the only one to remember the 80s with Mark Malone and Bubby Brister? The Steelers were garbage and still sold out every game.

When one team has 6 Super Bowls & is going for it's 7th fans of other teams are going to hate on them.

I don't hate the Steelers. I just think Roethlisburger is a jerk & that word is being kind. I thought it was a double standard on the organizations part to trade Holmes but stand by Roethlisburger. I understand why they did it. QB's don't grow on trees. From a winning standpoint they did the right thing.

I basically agree with Terry Bradshaw on the subject.

If Ben wins this Superbowl he will def go down as one of the best QB's ever... At his age, to already reach that status is amazing. Yes, he has gotten himself into some shady situations, but on the field, the dude is a beast.

edit: I had no idea he was playing for weeks with a friggin broken foot.

That's the thing that is eyeroll worthy about the Steelers. They act like they're some moral organization, but they have punks just like everyone else. Nothing wrong with it, but quit acting like you're the moral fiber of the NFL.

The Steelers kept Ben because he's one of the top QB's in the league. I understand why they did so. However for them to trade Holmes for a 5th round pick because of off the field issues is a double standard in my book.

Can an Eagles fan explain why Philly fans love Vick & hated McNabb for all the years he was in Philly?

OK...

Ben was signed to a long term deal and word was he was shopped but the Steelers werent going to part with him without receiving a Cutler style deal.

Holmes IS a FA now and was suspended for 4 weeks. The Steelers had no intention of resigning him with Wallace making a name so why put up with the BS?

Give it a couple years. Right now they're high on the excitement factor that he brings. When he fails to lead them to any SB victories for the next few years, they're going to sour on him just like McNabb.
