Heartbreaking for Z… but what a great story in Fitzpatrick.

His favourite course will never be in question.

For sure. Great round by Fitz.

As for the course? Should be a favorite of the USGA too. But instead they haven't been there in 34 years and we get classics like Torrey Pines, Chambers Bay and Erin Hills.

If this week doesn't convince those muppets that the CC should be a regular venue then I don't know what will.

There are so many great venues and different types of courses for this tournament. I wish they had a 15- or 20-year rule where the tournament was not played at the same course within that span.

And yeah, Fitzy and Billy winning the Open at a course in Boston sure sounds like maybe someone staked them and rigged it...

seven figure signing bonus, 54 hole tourneys, no cut.
I can certainly see the allure of taking the blood money.

you either play to compete on with the best golfers in the world, or you are there for the cash.

I saw a good tweet the other day - These conservative golfers certainly don't mind the socialism that the LIV tour is providing.

I think some of these guys are convinced that the ban will just blow over, or only last for the year.

I could see that. Take the LIV money for one year and then jump back to the PGA after a brief ban.

"I understand they are being fed everything, what to say and all this stuff. But it's just, for them to say that this is all for the betterment of the game. To be perfectly honest, I just wish one of them would have the balls to 'I am doing this for the money.' I, personally, would gain a lot more respect for that. But it's just the more that they keep talking, the players keep talking and saying that this is for the betterment of the game, the more agitated and irritated I get about it."

tweet said:
Jordan scooped up a gimme when his score didn’t count for a hole, forgetting that there was a solo portion.
apparently he just had a brain cramp and forgot that his ball was still in play. The solo portion must be stroke scoring; that's the only way to get DQ'd for something on one hole.

How is this legal? One shank and you could end up causing a multi-car pileup.
