Anybody else think they're going to give the award to Cam even though Dalton has double the wins, one less TD, and half the picks?

Cam is a dual threat though, Dalton's 19 rushing yards isn't scaring anyone. If they are decently close in passing, the rushing should put Cam ahead.

Yeah but it's not a rushing award. ROY at least my interpretation is whoever can help their team the most. Nobody expected either team to do anything at all this season, but the Panthers are still a losing team and the Bengals are 4-2 right now. And we all know it's not because of Nate Clements or Manny Lawson lol.

Depends how they view ROY.... performance stats wise? wins???

IMO it will be Newton considering he might break some rookie QB records by the end of year, if its even close....(just guessing passing yards?)

but if Dalton leads the bengals to the playoffs, holy moly...

Well, you may say it isn't because of Clements and Lawson, but the Bengals' offense last year ranked 20th. So far this year it's 24th. Their defense last year was 15th whereas this year it is 2nd.

They are giving up 6.2 less points per game this year as compared to last year. They are scoring 1.7 more points per game than last year.

How is Andy Dalton having such a great impact on the Bengals' defense?

Dalton won't lead the Bengals to the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, it's the defense that led them. Their offense is nearly identical to last year. The defense is significantly better.

Won't argue about the defense... but I'm sure IF the bengals makes the playoffs it will be spun into Dalton leading the Bengals into the playoffs....

They can spin it into whatever they want. I'm talking about what it IS.

If Dalton is leading the Bengals to the playoffs, what does that say about Smith with us?

Newton is on pace for 18 passing TDs and 18 rushing TDs. He could break 20/20. That's insane. He deserves the award at this point.

But like someone said before, if the Bengals make the playoffs, then that might change everything.

Well that's whats going to be subjective among the "voters/media" the more appeal would be to say Dalton leads the bengals into the postseason in his first yr...etc...

Harbs leads us lol...

Dalton has led a few game winning drives for the Bengals, some in situations last year where Palmer would have choked and lost the game for them.

honestly i'd give it to aj green, unless newton does something about the td:int ratio. newton has been a great story, but he's just slinging the ball to some talented pass catchers at multiple positions.

This and does he take some votes from dalton that said I think cam takes it

That's a damn good point. After yesterdays performance I'm starting to believe Cam will run away with it now. If he can cut down his turnovers, everything I thought about him would've been wrong.
