I saw them open for Iron Maiden, right after that came out. It took a little while for the album to hit big.
We had no idea who they were so we bought the cassette to listen to on the way into town for the concert.
were of course pleasantly surprised.

this was before axel was a diva, and was grateful for the gig. so they put on a pretty good show.

I’m guessing it was at the Pacific Coliseum on April 24th. Guessing the Canucks season was nothing to write home about.

only a few "skips' for me on that album.

as for a favorite gotta go with Nightrain
I gotta go with "Mr Brownstone". That old man, he's a real motherfucker.

I never really was in on GnR hype even though I had a brief hair metal streak. Metallica, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Anthrax, Dead Leopards, etc. I mean I appreciated the sound, but never got "into" them like a lot of people I knew. Appreciate them more now, even though Axl is jackass. I love heavy, crunchy guitars.

You might say all you need is just a little Patience.
My high school (and slightly beyond) girlfriend wanted that to be "our song". Took me a long time to even listen to it again.

In hindsight, this was a better song for us

Speaking of our song, it's my 27th wedding anniversary today and if you'll indulge me, this is one of mine and my wife's favorites...

Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs. Dash

So you got married when you were in your 60’s?

I've been married longer than dash? (By a few months - we hit 27 in May). Congrats you two crazy kids!

Our song:

She hated "my kind" of music when younger, so Iit still blows me away that she wanted our first dance to that song when I suggested it.

Fun fact, to me at least. Not being a fan of that music I just learned Slaughter was named after the founder- Mark Slaughter. I always assumed it was a name they chose because it was "tough" sounding.

They were recently scheduled to play at a 4th of July festival near me but their performance was canceled due to storms. I wondered if they were happy about that or not. They still got paid, so is it a nice paid night off or would they preferred to go on.....

Nice. I'm coming up on 25. Our wedding song is Pepper by the Butthole Surfers.

Little known fact… Mark’s father was quite famous himself

I thought they were named after this iconic character...
