on this day in 1989, Nirvana released their debut album, Bleach.
they would rank about 9th on my list of Seattle/grunge bands, but they certainly did lead the charge

As long as they rank behind Queensryche all is good.

I went with the ones people likely had heard. Boy with a thorn in his side might be my favorite Smiths song ever. Bigmouth strikes again is another great one.

Gino Vannelli is 70 years young today - Has to be one of @jstewismybastardson 's favorites :D

Pretty sure my sister barged in on me recording “hurts to be in love” off of radio station lg73 once and 10 year old me screamed “I’M FUCKIN RECORDING HERE!” (This is not a euphemism for anything sexual … im looking at you @Comeds)

/loved his moms pizza back in the day too

Old Guy Radio brings out this classic from Nick Lowe as June is a very popular month for weddings...

This day in 1942, 80 years ago

He was at Camden Yards a week ago. Because of Covid someone I know couldn't go and offered me the ticket. I said no. Full disclosure - it was an hour before the show on a work night and I'd only be seeing him to say I saw him - not a huge fan.

I was really angry when I heard he opened with Spies Like US then played Jet then played Spies Like US and finished with a 39 minute Band On The Run.

That sounds great.

Axl Rose as the voice of reason. My favorite GNR tune

/ignore the confederate flag imagery. Sort of kills the message

Stevie Nicks is trending (don't worry, she's fine) so here's a pic...

Old Guy Radio with this classic from B.W. Stevenson (I think Brooks and Dunn covered it as well)

I have not seen that since I was a kid. Man even then I remember that video being a mess, but what the hell? Whose idea was it for Nikolai Volkoff to be milking a fake cow?
