I would agree - first IM i heard was Number of the Beast.
actually, first time I heard "Running Free" was with Bruce singing it on the album Live After Death

and yeah, my list for metal is
1. Black Sabbath
2a. Iron Maiden
2b. Judas Priest

big gap before anyone else (but Dio is probably next)
