Just saw a clip of the US handball against Japan.

They got SUPER lucky on that. No such luck for the Canadians.

Congrats to the US team on gold even if they are a bunch of arrogant biatches.

Good w(h)ine from the French coach:

When it was suggested the winning goal by Canada’s Diana Matheson might have been offside, Bini took the high road.

We don’t have anything to say about the referee. Some teams have big mouths. It’s my philosophy, the philosophy of our staff and the philosophy of the French team. Don’t expect me talk about the referees. We just have to accept it.”

A Canadian player (Kyle) was in an offside position, but since the ball wasn't played by her, the correct call (that is, not offside) was made and the goal stands. Au revoir, Frenchie.

I just think the Norwegian ref was in way over her head and succumbed to gamesmanship from Wambach. Oh well, what's done is done, I doubt she'll be officiating any games between Canada and the US in the future, so it's a moot point.

Bolt eviscerated carl lewis in post race press conference ... That was enjoyable

/lord help him if he ever tests positive

//cant wait for the new espn 30 for 30 titled "9.79" on the 1988 100 metre final

Wonder how they will paint lewis considering every runner in that gold medal race ended up being on roids

For sure Dash.

It's too bad such a great game had to influenced by such a weak performance from he refs. The US squad is more talented than the Canadians but I feel like Canada was the better team for that one game and deserved to move on.

I'm glad I don't have kids yet because watching a game like that would be very hard to explain.

I read somewhere that Lewis tested positive for HGH (this was after the '88 Olympics) but the positive test was quickly buried.

Yeah, Lewis was a cheater. He really shouldn't be making comments on this stuff. My guess is Bolt likely is as well. Track and field and cycling are pretty dirty.

This is easy: "Honey, this is why daddy always boos the refs when they come onto the field/ice/court. Not sometimes, or most of the time...BUT EVERY TIME THEY ARRIVE!"

I would just go with: "thats why mommy would make a horrible referee" and then duck to avoid the object thats coming at my head

Apparently an American Cyclist was stripped of his Gold Medal from the 2004 Olympics because he admitted to doping. If they have proof could they take Lewis's Gold from 1988 away?

I'd have to think that if they had proof, they would have done so already. Tyler Hamilton (the cyclist) admitted to doping, so they took his away. I have a hard time Carl Lewis would EVER admit to it.
