well, it's a start.
Saudi Arabia brings female athletes for the first time, but makes them walk well behind the men.

When they put the team on a bus to go back to the hotel they should give them a female bus driver.

I think I heard that Mitt blasted British PM Dave Cameron for what he perceived as not enough security at Olympic venues. Cameron responded that it's a little more difficult in London than in the "middle of nowhere" (meaning Salt Lake City).

Oh you better believe it's on.

Considering how brutal true Brit putdowns can get, that one was merely a lovetap.

Looks like NBC coverage starts at 7:30pm.

It all depends on what NBC coverage will be. Will they show the ceremony or start on the soft-fuzzy focus fest of stories about athletes overcoming overwhelming odds like a grade three hangnail or a house that had too many steps when they were a kid?

I loves the 'lympics.

I hates the 'lympics coverage.

well that was an underwhelming opening ceremonies. It wasnt terrible but it was just kinda blah.... had some cool moments. I loved the lighting of the Cauldron. Ive always liked the idea of the younger next generation lighting it after being passed on from the heroes of old. the queen/bond thing was um awful. the entire opening sequence running down the thames was really poorly done and seemed REALLY rushed. the cgi helicopter at the start was really noticeable and that statue of winston churchill coming alive to wave at James Bond was a WTF moment.

the childrens choirs were great as was the tribute to GOSH. but the giant monsters rising out of the beds to be thwarted by 50 mary poppins was something that may visit me in my dreams tonight. lol

Id give it a 6 out of 10

The Brits should have taken a minute to thank Frank Drebin for saving the Queen years ago.

I just find it comical that romney shits on londons organizing committee for the security failures and then has execs from multinational security services company G4S (who are the dimwits who fucked everything up) sitting at his campaign fundraiser london dinner last night

Mitt knows whos buttering his crumpets ... What a douche

I was amazed when they used the coachella tupac hologram to recreate lady di in the passenger seat of a car as it crashes into a pole and then explodes

Then the pole catches alight and the cauldron on top fires up

Simply amazing

11 out of 10 in my books

Is it wrong that I believe that actually happened?

this was a part that made me spit up water.

this was on the TV as the athletes came on the field for Canada. the local canadian announcers said

"Canadian athletes enter the stadium"

and all they showed were these girls

we are going to place worse than last place.
