Asked if he felt his teammates had matched his heart, Bryant retorted, "No, of course they didn't."

I've never seen anyone so good make so many bad decisions over a career (timing, shot selection, "leading," hotel staff usage, and many things in between).

In Kobe's defense, ask anybody who watched the past two games and they'll give you the same answer Kobe did.

It's either Kobe being Kobe or a ploy to get his teammates to wake up. Probably the former. NBA basketball isn't really a team sporty anyways.

That's true, but really only reinforces what myself and other folks have posted. The last two games he's played extremely well. He's also defended Bynum's stupidity because he thought that was what a leader should do and then made the comments he did last night out of frustration.

Asked if he felt his teammates had matched his heart, Bryant retorted, "No, of course they didn't."

He's absolutely correct. Did any of you watch the game? He was playing with a stomach virus and was the only player on the Lakers who played like they gave a shit. It was a closeout playoff game and everyone was playing with zero intensity. People can call him a dick but he is a leader and a winner and is able to say things like that. They deserved to be called out because they need a fire lit under their asses.

Watched every minute, and I completely agree.

I just have a different opinion about how to handle that question (and responding to Bynum previously, and numerous other situations in his career). IMO, he responded the way a fan (like us) would respond. If it lights a fire, good for them, they need one, but I'll view it like I view a bad shot selection during a game: It going in doesn't make it a good shot selection.

To each their own. Cheers.

He'll buy them all some expensive jewelry, then change his number and everyone will forget all about it again.

To paraphrase Daniel Tosh.... "No no no, #8 was the rapist, #24 was the horrible teammate and gigantic asswipe, #43 has a tremendous work ethic and unstoppable fadeaway."

Now lets all sell #43 jerseys an praise the man again.

He's probably right. Bynum has all the tools to be great, but damn, he's just too immature and doesn't bring it every game.

Gotta put some blame on the reporter though, if that's the way he/she phrased the question.

There's a little bit of entrapment inherent in how it's asked... How do you answer that on the fly without coming off as a complete douchebag.

Michael Jordan certainly was a winner, but it has been well documented that he was/is one of the biggest assholes on the planet.

Anyone remember when he punched Steve Kerr in practice?
