I listened to a story on NPR about an American crew that was working on the reactor when the tsunami hit. The ground started to shake in the reactor room, the reactors started making a howling demonic noise, and the lights went off. They were able to make it out of the room, outside, and to higher ground... they watched the tsunami come in. They thought they weren't high enough and were going to be swept to sea. The guy said that when the tsunami started to retreat back to the ocean, the force of the returning wave actually sucked clouds and cold air back from the mountains. He said it was a crystal clear day, and as the tsunami went back into the ocean a rush of cold air and gray clouds just raced overhead and it started to snow. How creepy is that?

I am a sucker for that. I have watched and read a ton about Chernobyl. A few years ago an Australian version of 60 Minutes sent a crew inside the control room, it was really cool.

Scary apocalyptic stuff. I'd be panicked.

I watched a bunch of videos about it after that one...and looked up pictures. I'd be scared crapless going into the Dead Zone. Never would even get close. And some of those people were so nonchalant about it...

modern warfare has a level where you go here before the accident (back in time) the mapping on that game is almost identical. I hadn't realized they got so close to the city and the amusement park in those pictures.

creepy town. what a disaster. RIP to all those fallen.

I remember that level. MW1? I just remember the Ferris Wheel.

Wow That's pretty nasty. It's amazing to me that people will loot under some of the circumstances that they do.

Yes "Nasty" pun intended. :yahoo:
