Boss the problem is that people with this type of narcissistic personality disorder are prone to murder/suicide. You are doing enough by letting the police handle it. Beating the shit out of this guy only results in him beating the shit out of his wife and child that much more severely because then he feels he needs to prove something. Moreover you run the risk of this asshole getting a gun and killing you along with his family.

She chooses to be with him and he chooses to beat her. You can't change how fucked up either of them are all you can do to give yourself the piece of mind to know that calling the police was the right thing to do.
