nas...man...that's a rough line up of teams there. i guess you once had a spurs dynasty to live with, but now you just have the AARP sitting on the sidelines of the games.

Hey, us fans of losers need to stick together, right? It'll get better!:) Maybe.

It's a matter of when, not if. I mean, look at the Pirates' offense lately. And you've got Smoak and Ackley, who are both plus bats going forward, as well as good young pitching. I honestly think the Pirates have a starting lineup to win, and a bullpen to win, but their rotation just sucks right now.

It's so good to see Chase D'Aurnad start to heat up. The kid's got huge talent, and I hope he's a legitimate option for the Bucco middle infield going forward. I expect him to start next season in AAA, and maybe earn a September call-up.

as long as bixler never makes it back up. think DA is the future SS? i mean, IMO the rest of the roster is set outside of our starters. that's what's so frustrating...this is a good lineup, and an above average pen, with NO results because of our starting rotation.

Yeah. I honestly think the Spurs have 1 or 2 years left with the big 3 to win another title or else it's probably time to look to rebuild.

As of today my baseball team is above .500, so they aren't complete losers anymore. How's the weather down there in last place? :D

87 and sunny in Spokane:p

Seriously, this is definitely not what we expected.

Chase has got to be the future. Who else is there? Maybe Brian Friday, but I see him as more of a useful utility guy. I don't think he's got enough glove. Diaz is a worse hitter than Bixler, he's just super-slick defensively. Mercer's still kind of far away. Harrison's a good hitter, but he's probably more of a second baseman defensively. D'Aurnad is the only one who has the tools to handle the position defensively and be a plus bat at the same time.

Unfortunately, our best pitchers are still in the low minors or not yet signed. Bryan Morris won't be up until next year. Locke, Adcock, von Rosenberg, and Miller are all two or more years away. Allie and Taillon haven't even begun their negotiations (as expected, since agents of top draft picks always like to hold out until a few days before the deadline). The closest pitchers now are Morton if he figured it out, which I hope he does because his talent is huge, Moskos, who's a bullpen arm, Owens, who's a #3 guy at best I'd say who will probably end up being a Paul Maholm clone when he comes up sometime next year, and Justin Wilson, who's about the same as Owens.

Consequently, I'd like to see them sign a reclamation project who used to have big talent but then got hurt. A guy like Brandon Webb, Ben Sheets, or Erik Bedard.

my biggest worry right now is that this awesome core we have right now will be wasted and broken up by the time we get our pitchers primed and ready.

I just want to see Ackley at some point before the season's over.

If he's in AA, you won't. If he's in AAA, you'll see him for no more than a cup of coffee in September. It's very important to a rebuilding team to avoid its players gaining Super Two status.
