Apparently the Padres, Mets, and Dodgers are all interested in Pirates pitcher Paul Maholm. The Pirates are looking for a Major League-ready starting pitching prospect in return. I don't see the point of the deal, unless we get a guy who came up and flopped like Lincoln did for the Pirates, but who has big upside, also like Lincoln.
