Daughter's iPhone was in the middle of an update when their server went offline and it torched the entire phone. Now that their server is back up, it won't let me connect because the phone is not the right version.

I am in a tech job, but not support anymore. I do forensics and security.

The good news is being in Security has taught me how to play Jedi Mind tricks on computers. Took me a little while to figure out what firmware version the Server was looking for, and when I figured it out I used a program I have to edit the traffic to make the server think it was the right one.

Worked so far. Restoring now.

I baked spent grain bread last night. It's tasty, if a little dense. I started it at 10:00, and I didn't want to wait for it to rise all the way. It was a trial run anyway, just to make sure it would taste alright. When I bake it for my roommate's seminar, I'll actually let it rise all the way.

Also, kneading bread dough feels oddly wonderful.
