Yeah, that's gotta be tough seeing as she won at the World Championships but couldn't even qualify in the Olympics...

There's a stupid 2-person-only rule in effect this year. You can only send two people to represent your country in the finals or something. So someone with a pathetically low score can make the final cut, but the world champion can be left out. I suspect they will be revisiting that rule later.

The funny thing is this board was mocked for the longest time regarding being too quick to pull the trigger on banning posters. Something about glass houses and throwing stones comes to mind.

I guess I'm just disappointed. If they don't like certain posters in the "water cooler" then ban them from the General Board but let them post here. We're just as big of a community as any on Sports SportsHoopla - and certainly the biggest one about sports. I don't see why anything that happens there should affect us.

Didn't they have three of the top five or six individual scores in the qualifying? And Wieber's performances were pretty excellent, especially the floor routine, with only minor mistakes. I'm not sure why she was docked so much.

In any case, it looks like team gold is the USA's to lose.

And the men's team is apparently expected to do very well this year, too, after their surprise bronze in 2008.

I'm not too concerned. They're underachieving right now, and they're still keeping pace in some ways.

And Bedard has only made one bad pitch in this game, and he's given up four runs. That's a shame.
