Lifetime goal of shooting a par round seems it's much more within reach than in the past. But golf is such a cruel mistress!

Sure is. PLayed the first time this year after not having even swung a club since last October. 1 over for nine. I thought, I might have a handle on thsi game.

Whatever it is that gets you to go, GO. A little more than a year ago, I had bad leg cramps and vision problems. Figured out that I have the family affliction - diabetes. A year, lots of excercise and a re-thunk diet later and I am down 50 pounds and am planning to quit my meds in August. Never had to go on insulin. Strangely, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

That's awesome!

When I was in playing shape, I could run a 5:50 mile. Now I'd be lucky to crack 9:50. But I'm moving in the next couple months and I'm gonna look for a local gym when I do. Also won't be spending obscene amounts of time commuting, so I'll have time/energy to get in better shape. Looking forward to it... and hopefully playing hockey again. Been a LONG time...

If you're getting commute time back, it must be out of Maryland

Real reason as to why I visited Rhode Island is that I'm going back to school. Going to Johnson and Wales to study Culinary Arts in Providence, RI. Thursday and Friday was orientation.
