Rumor, no idea how much substance it actually has, Mariners are in the running for Napoli as well? Seattle making a push huh?
/I get the feeling it will ALL be a colossal fail
^^
Is that Juan Kesler or Ryan Uribe above?
oh they're never give to give up on him
never going to let him down
Its Rick Ackley we are taking about, right?
The Pirates really need to make a move...because I'm impatient. Really impatient. No other reason...well, and to make the roster better.
The contracts being given out don't make sense for the Pirates, for the most part, and the ones which did make sense went to players who had already decided where they wanted to sign.
Regardless of our activity in free agency this year, our biggest additions will be Taillon and Polanco. And that's just fine. We can't commit to these long-term, big money deals, because then how do we afford to hold onto our young up-and-comers as they hit arbitration and eventually start looking into long-term deals into free agency? Those guys will be more affordable, and that's how we have to build, with additions here and there in free agency of small sorts.
I would actually really like Loney now, looking at everything. As a platoon partner with Sanchez, he would be an upgrade at first base offensively, and a massive upgrade defensively. Tabata, when healthy, is a fringe starter on a Major League team, so if he stays healthy, our outfield should be fine until Polanco's ready. I do want to bring back Burnett, though.
Hey guys, my workplace had a book drive a few weeks ago and put the leftover books in the break room for people to take. In it there is a novelization of the movie "Stargate", if anyone wants it let me know.
