Because they were active in the offseason I guess. Thought the additions of Puig, Kemp, Wood, and Gray were enough to make them good?

But Puig is the only one of those guys with a real chance at being an impact addition. The rest are fine players, but just patchwork on a team that was really, really bad last year.

Yeah, I expected them to be improved, but not enough to finish higher than 4th.

I don't think they're good enough to even finish 4th, honestly, in this division, unless something goes horribly wrong with a team. They all have flaws--Cards have a shallow rotation and bullpen, Brewers the same, especially with the injuries, Cubs have an aging rotation and no bullpen ace, Bucs have poor infield defense and a lineup that needs a breakout or two to be good--but they're all better, more complete teams than the Reds.
