Had a feeling he might choose to walk away. Ten years in one job can get to anybody. Leaves the team in good condition and has a ring. More guys should take that cue.

A bird--even a small bird--is feasible due to the velocity of the collision. Aluminum is strong but reasonably pliable. And some species of vulture fly at up to almost 38,000 feet, so there's also a pretty big bird that flies high.

Some geese fly at almost 30,000 feet as well during migration.
