The second round of the draft starts soon. I can't wait to see what the Pirates do with their next pick. OF Josh Bell and LHP Daniel Norris are both still on the board. Bell apparently won't sign no matter what, but I think his talent is big enough to take that risk and offer him a big bonus, using the CBA uncertainty as leverage. Norris just wants absurd money.

Seems like the Nats made a good pick with Rendon at #6. I don't follow high school/college baseball, but they are saying he might be the best player in the draft if his health issues aren't a problem. At #6, I like the gamble.

Before the injury, he was considered a better hitting prospect than Harper, and at a prime defensive position, which heightens his value.

His plate vision is compared to that of Ted Williams.

For me, the injuries shouldn't have been a concern. The kid's going to rake in MLB. You absolutely got the best player in the draft.

Apparently, the projected floor for signing Bell is $6.5 million. That's steep, especially since that's about what Cole wants, too.

The Pirates just picked Alex Dickerson with the 91st overall pick. I love it. Power-hitting left-handed first baseman, top 50 draft prospect. Money must not be an issue this year.
