How do you feel about Hultzen, Brian?

Don't know much about him. What can you tell me?

He's a rare hard-throwing lefty and probably the safest top-end talent in the draft, at least among pitchers. This season at Virginia, he's been very good. I don't think his ceiling is very high, probably not much more than a #2 or #3, but the odds are high that he reaches that potential if he stays healthy.

He's got three pitches and good command of all of them. Mid-90s fastball, plus plus changeup, and average slider. He definitely has Major League stuff, and he should be in the league for a long time, if for no reason aside from being a lefty.

He was a top 3 guy, so it was a smart pick, especially with the apparently very scary medical report on Rendon (he fell to 6th).

And if he works out, yes, you will.

I'm hoping Purke (LHP) or Dickerson (OF) falls to the Pirates after the compensation round.

I take it back about Purke. He's hurt right now. If he's still around in the 5th round, maybe, but the injury scares me on him. Replace him with Bell (OF) on my fantasy list.
