google tells me there is (or was) on out in Surrey, but I've never been.
I've had both. I think In N Out is better but my friend from DC who lives out here believe 5 Guys is better. We chalked it up to nostalgia and hometown pride.
My favorite bar in my neighborhood makes these amazing burgers. They have a grinder in the kitchen so they grind bacon directly into the beef. Called the beef and bacon burger, amazing. It's on the outskirts of the City so it's not nearly as popular as it should be, but it's supposed to be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives this spring so it should blow up right after that. I'll be happy for the boys that they're doing well but really bummed that I have to share my whiskey bar and burgers with all the crowds.

most east coasters I've spoken to do seem to prefer 5 Guys.Surprised that you've had 5 Guys, but not surprised you like the local better, most people do....
