Aside from several local camping trips on the weekends, there were no grand adventures for me this summer. Saving time for that honeymoon.

But what is y'alls excuse? Show us some summer vacay photos and share your stories! Summer is almost over...

I didn't go anywhere because I started a new job.
Have been having fun making my kid's summer as miserable as possible because she didn't bother to get a job or volunteer anywhere. So making homelife a living hell. (no WiFi or cable, long list of shitty chores every day)

I might go away in the fall depending on our money situation. I hope so, I could use a break. If not I am taking a week and doing nothing.

Most of the summer I have been working on a hip hop musical about founding father James Madison aka Mad Jimmy. The third act needs work but its coming along.

I'm in the same situation, although it's my wife that recently started a new job. I still have a lot of spots that I have yet to visit here on Vancouver Island, so little day trips here and there is probably going to constitute my vacation this year. With one daughter in university and another daughter a year away from starting, trying to help them out as much as possible cuts into vacation spending.

I put off traveling this summer to the fall instead. I’m going to Amsterdam and Utrecht via Calgary then on to Berlin for a few days then off to Bangkok and back to LA via Singapore. 10 days total. I figure if you’re going to Europe you might as well tack on Singapore to the excursion. I’ll be flying Air Canada, KLM, Lufthansa, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines. Looking forward to the Air Canada flight.

Kelowna (heading there in a couple hours), Seattle, LA ... wash, rinse repeat. The stays are free so theyre for me :thumb:

Last weekend we were in whistler to mountain bike with the bonus of getting to watch parts of the final ironman to be held in the city. Always inspiring to watch the beautiful people compete in that. Legit thinking of entering next year in penticton (if i can make it to next year lol)

I went to Outer Banks for a week with my wife's whole family.

But with the help of a Therapist, the tremors have almost stopped.

I'm going to Amsterdam this fall as well, but I'm sticking that general area, and going to Belgium.

Spent a week in Wrightsville Beach, NC this summer.

Diving, huh? Did the Russina judge pull anything funny?

Next time, try putting them into a tonic immobility. Then take a selfie. That's a hall of fame move.

Today actually, right now.....

20190802_191147.jpg

Sucked last night with the rain. I was prepared, rain jacket but not enough.

Other than that, working. Got shit to do now with work

August 12-14: Aunt and Uncle come to town
August 17: Family Charity golf tournament
August 19-23: Aunt, Uncle and couple of their kids are visiting.
August 23-24: Going to Seattle for Jays/Marniers. Figured it out when my parents left a hint with me in a car.

And then their goes August. Oh and My sister in law is expecting their 2nd. Sometime in August- September.

Sorry. Nightfall made me take a bad photo, not because I am a bad photographer ;)

I’ll be seeing Weird Al on the 18th. Other than that, nothing exciting.

Saw a wedding. In the middle of a country music festival.

Proof that it was not me.

Spent 4 days in Southeastern Alberta in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park just south of Medicine Hat. Very cool place that I'd never visited before.

For those interested the Cypress Hills are a group of hills and plateaus that are surrounded by the prairies. During the Wisconsinan glaciation, and Medicine Hat's favourite son @dash's youth, the prairies were inundated with ice (then water). This collection of hills was one of the only places in Western Canada that wasn't glaciated and the result is a cool little oasis in the prairies. Definitely worth seeing.

^^

Did you know that the elevation of Cypress Hills Provincial Park is greater than the town of Banff (1,468 m as compared to 1,383 m). I have been there many times, Elkwater Lake is a good place to go swimming or water-skiing and they have skiing in the winter time.

Yeah. Hiked up the hill from Elkwater to Horseshoe Canyon lookout. You can feel it getting cooler as you gain that elevation. We spent some time swimming in Elkwater Lake. Nice spot. We're definitely thinking of coming back to check out some skiing (mostly x-country) in the winter.
