My current avatar is me pipetting one of Guaiacol, Horseradish Peroxidase, Hydrogen Peroxide, Monobasic Phosphate buffer of pH 7, or Ibuprofen salt solution into a 1 cm quartz cuvette in an Ocean Optics spectrophotometer in order to study the kinetic inhibition caused by the ibuprofen. Turns out, ibuprofen does not inhibit the reaction.

I've had two previous avatars as well, the more recent being the structure of Methyl Red, and azo-dye that I will be studying extensively in the fall, and the oldest being my most epic rugby photograph, in which I am carrying two opposing players on my back.

how does one explain HST...

maybe like this...
"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into locked a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon. "

Isn't that the dye used on higher-quality DVDRs? What will you be testing?

I know some dye is, but I don't know which. I actually haven't done any research on how the stuff is used, just on what it does physically and theoretically. There was a really nifty study in which polymer cantilevers were doped with some dye, and then incidence light of varying polarizations was shined on the cantilever, and the light actually caused mechanical bending in the cantilever. I think that would be a really neat experiment to do, or even just to watch.

What about the Michael Ian Black avatar?

First of all, that was me. Secondly, that was from the Swamp, and this is about our SportsHoopla avatars. Thus, I can say legitimately, that we don't talk about it.

Mine is the aftermath of the play that in my mind, guaranteed the Devils the 2000 Stanley Cup, which at the time was the highlight of my life. Also, I know it really irks Flyers fans ;)
