I was going to watch this series, but then I remembered that the NBA is a terrible league and only terrible things should happen to it, and I don't consider adding another viewer to the ratings a terrible thing for the league.

Now college basketball I will watch. The talent isn't as high but the teamwork is waaaaaaay better.

Mall said it best when he said he likes basketball but hates the NBA. I hate the NBA the way it is now, but Boston/Philly was always a good rivalry so that's why I decided to make this thread. I can tell you if the Celts win the title there's no way I go to the parade.

I will watch the game tonight because I'm loyal to the Philly sports teams (Sixers being least favorite). The Celtics will win this series, probably tonight. However, by some chance if the Sixers win this series, it won't get me excited. Like I said, the days of Barkley, Malone, Cheeks, and Dr.J was when I was really into the NBA. Times have changed, greedy athletes and the thug image has made me lose interest probably by the mid to late 90s. When Jordaneft, the NBA has sucked. I couldn't stand the Bulls and Jordan, but at least the NBA had a good product and the NBA athletes were still playing for pride. It's about the paycheck now. Another example, look at the original Dream Team sent to the Olympics that consisted of Bird, Barkley, Laetner, and others. They played as a team and pride for their country. They were untouchable. Today's teams have all of these ego's and not only that, but they get beat from time to time. These are elite the best basketball players in the world. Yet, they lose to teams they should steamroll. Today's NBA athlete has lost many fans who were die hards once upon a time. They cater to a young audience for the sole purpose to sell merchandise. Just my opinion. Agree or disagree?

Why apologize? It's the truth. I'll watch the Celtics from time to time during the season and in the playoffs, but only when the Bruins aren't on.

I've been saying this from the beginning. They need Howard to leave Orlando. He would do wonders for this young team. I think they could use a 3 point specialist as well. Good series Beantown, the better team won.
