really?????

6/10

I'd give it a 7 I say fantastic but I need to rewatch the original and I know they added parts of thevoriginal dead 2 in here but for a remake it stands a lot higher than others

Saw "Desolation of Smaug" last night - it was fantastic. Much better than the first one. The tone was much closer to the original LOTR trilogy. It still had a bit more 'bumbling dwarf' type humour, but it worked well in this installment.

All the characters are more interesting. Bilbo is developed quite well. Smaug is fantastic. We see the bad-ass Balrog-challenging Gandalf of old, not the grumpy Gandalf from the last film. The dwarfs are still mostly wallpaper, but a few stand out, especially Balin. Even Radagast is more palatable.

Overall a very enjoyable evening! I also saw it in standard frame rate - I thought HFR was too much of a distraction the last time around.

but I finally saw django unchained.

holy crap that was good.

2 things

1. Christoph Waltz is a ridiculous good actor
2. the amount of times they use the N word in that movie actually made me uncomfortable wow

I enjoyed Hobbit 2 far more than the first. I believe somebody commented on it already, far less slapstick, not as cartoonish, I liked it.

I honestly can't tell the difference. :noidea:

I saw it in HFR 3D (the first one), looked fine to me.

Django Unchained was an EXCELLENT movie. Leo was awesome as the villain and Foxx was great as well as Waltz.

I will watch just about anything except musicals or fluffy romantic comedies (unless they have good nudity in them)
