I thought that was surprising as well..... They were a competitive team this season despite the record. Not really sure what the administration expected when they hired him.

Dream scenario: Chud fired. Gruden hired somewhere. Bengals hire Norv as OC

The Browns are going to have to stick with someone eventually if they really want to build a winning program.

No QB
No RB
No 2nd WR
No winning culture
No nothing...

Yeah, must be the coaches fault. The Browns will never win playing musical chairs with their coaches and staff. It's laughable, and sad, all at the same time.

Talk about dysfunctional.

Sounds like the front office is more screwed up than the actual team. This guy did a hell of a job with no QB and absolutely no help from that same front office. Those idiots were going to trade Josh Gordon.

Who the hell would want that job? Norv?

I doubt they'd hire Zim. If they wanted a defensive minded coach they'll keep/promote Horton

Yeah... at the end of the season he's probably the most valuable WR in the league if you factor in his age, his low contract, and his production with sub par QB play.. the fact their front office was trying to trade him is evidence that they're not able to evaluate talent..

Chudzinski is getting a raw deal. The only way this makes any sense is if the Browns are planning on a huge hire.. Maybe Jon Gruden.. I'll even give them Bill O'Brien..

if they're firing their first yr coach to hire a retread or an unproven coordinator this makes absolutely no sense

Honestly, I don't think it makes any sense anyway, regardless of who they think they can get.

THere's no continuity in the organization. Constant turnover only leads to more unfamiliarity, and more learning curves...If they think Hoyer can be ready for next year, they can draft a QB with their 1st pick, and have Hoyer start the season, let the rookie learn, and the add depth through the draft. They've got some decent skill players, they need more complimentary pieces to fit.

If they hire a new coach, and new scheme, they are going to set themselves back another year, plus if you are a F/A why would you want to return to that dysfunction?

I wouldn't say I agree with the move if it's for a big money, big name coach. But at least that makes some sense to me.

Just firing Chudzinski for the sake of firing him after this season would be a head scratcher
