I have a similar (Autism spectrum, panic attacks, migraines. yet gifted) free spirited 21-year-old who couldn't handle traditional school, and even had to drop out of virtual school in 10th grade, aced the GED test 3 years later without studying and just completed the first semester of college on the President's List.

It's a journey, and only one leg of it is over.

It's really never over. As kids get older new struggles come up. You might not be as aware of them, but they exist.

Grandchildren, that's something else.

No grandkids for me as of yet, but I believe a wedding proposal for my eldest daughter is happening next month.

My company announced we will no longer have costumed Halloween parties. Coworkers are mad at me because they think I am to blame, but I disagree. I still thing going as Alfred Molina's character in Boogie Nights was a great costume.
