My actual social media footprint is pretty small, but I am going to shrink it even more. Going to also slowly delete my past on Twitter and Instagram and leave it as pretty much a consume not interact function.I'm deleting all my tweets and leaving that Elon hellscape, I'd delete my account but leaving it incase it gets sold, and might still check things now and then.
I have to do them one by one, I'm not paying too do them in bulk. A couple things jump out. Everything from 10 years ago or before was mostly silly fun or lighthearted debates. So different.
And I'm seeing conversations with a few people that are no longer with us, and that kind of bums me out
It has begun.

how bout some rando "weirdo rambling story bro" levity with everyone feeling so heavy.A higher up in my company started having webex town hall meetings during the pandemic. Convinced people like them he still does every other week. He likes to recommend music selections and says he gets a lot of feedback about that, I think people are just fucking with him. Today he explained he got a new iPhone so he has Apple tv now and recommended Ted Lasso. LOL timely recommendation there chief! Now the funny part is as he moved onto more serious topics people are talking about other Apple shows they like in webex chat

the bold reminded me of my wifes "uncle Jerry". I met him in the summer of 2000. First introduction: He walked into the living room area of my inlaws vacation condo as my wife (then gf) and I were watching an episode of the first season of Survivor. No hello no intro just some Donald-Pleasance-from-Halloween-looking old dude asking us "hey whatcha watching?"
He had never heard of Survivor (and I think it was a cultural phenomenon that summer). There was a long awkward pause after where we just stared at each other and then he said "hey have ya seen that hot new show ... the one with the Scottish guy and hes the leader of the tribe in the war" and my wife and I looked at each other couldnt think of anything and I said "wait you mean Braveheart?" ... i always bring that up to my wife when we see him in the summer lol
Jerry wasnt really an uncle ... was/is my father in laws childhood friend. Probably 80 now. Always thought its was an unlikely friendship as my father in law has been successful in business, and now sits on multiple boards in virtual retirement. Meanwhile, "Uncle Jerry" was/is a boat upholsterer that kinda does/finishes jobs on his own schedule lol.
That same summer we went to spend the night at his place because we were going to go out boating with him the next morning at a lake closer to his place than the condo. His place was a disaster lol no toilet in the basement (he was getting around to installing one he said) just the open toilet drain hole that was covered by one of his dinner plates. We slept on his massive upholstery table in his basement workshop which was about 4 feet off the ground. He rolled out a huge piece of foam for us. The ceiling was sub 7 feet in this workshop and it felt like our noses were pressed up against it. Also couldnt move very far towards the edges either way because he had all types of stuffed heads of his hunting kills hung on each of the 4 walls. I can remember thinking "oh wow wolverines are real? and thats what they look like ????"
Next day we went boating with him and his boat was immaculate. An older boat but just so well maintained and literally sparkling clean. My wifes sister cut her heel at some point and uncle Jerry yelled at "dont bring AIDS onto my boat!"

This is horrific... Tony and I have been talking for years in DMs on Twitter .. every year I watch his remake of Night of the Living Dead and we always spark a small conversation on the making of it or his working with Brandon Lee, talking Star Trek and him always giving me horror movie suggestions.. this year he never respond to my DM and while it didn't feel like this was the reason .. I am so sad by this passing. We were not friends but I'd like to think had I met him at a convention and mentioned my handle we would have known ...RIP Tony Todd
He was fun to watch in a lot of stuff, some good some bad, but he was usually good. What a voice too

We legit lost a legendI'm sorry man, I think you have posted interactions here before.
I remember him as Kurn but I didn't realize how prolific an actor he was. 245 credits, some of which I've seen and didn't know he was the same actor. That's the mark of a great actor. We legit lost a legend
The good news is that if this starts a monkey human epidemic, we just voted in the perfect people to deal with it.It has begun.
