What an amazing episode. Could not agree more, arguably one of the best episodes in any series I've ever seen. The Chalky/Gyp stare down, Richard no longer has to put up with Mrs. Darmody's bs, Lucky screwing himself over, and then the ending. Can not wait for the finale.

Yeah. I really liked the scene with Chalky and Nucky in the yard office towards the end. And Capone's line at the end of the show was phenomenal - great, cinematic shot, too.

'Boardwalk Empire' recap: 'How can I give you what I don't own?' | NJ.com

Nice little recap if you're bored.

One part Comeds already commented on:

• Was there a colder, icier moment than Gillian referring to Richard Harrow's galpal Julia Sagorsky: "Pretty girl ... Pretty name ... She doesn't look blind..."

• OK ... Just have to say it. Seeing Richard Harrow in sniper mode and prep his arsenal to those war drums was the moment EVERY 'Empire' fan has been waiting for this season. Some serious stuff is about to go down.

• God, what an ending! Who else was in fist-pump mode when they saw Al Capone (Stephen Graham) emerge from that sea of Model-Ts and say, "We've been on the road for 18 hours... Need a bath, some chow then me and you sit down and we talk about WHO DIES."

interesting to see:
- Nucky take care of things of his own at his house (or was it the hotel?)
- show compassion for Eddie
- Chalky's got 'hand' now. Hope he becomes more prominent.

lol Gyp "we both got left out in the sun too long"

awesome last line in that episode. "you and me sit down, we talk about who dies"
this is going to get messy.

Good posts, guys. Thanks for reminding me what the last line was - such a great moment.

I also liked this little moment...
Gyp: Is it Chalky? Or Mr. White? How should I address you?
Chalky: You doin' it.

PS - Can't wait to see Gillian get it.

Great finish to a great season. Wasn't sure how the show would progress without Jimmy, and it wound up being as good as ever. The season finale wrapped some things up nicely and set the stage for next season.

Arnold Rothstein will have his hands full, Marge told Nucky to go eff himself, and what will become of Richard and Mrs Darmody?

I hope Mrs Darmody had a fatal dose. I don't see the need for her character any longer. Who knows where Richard will go. I thought it was funny when Nucky and Eli showed up and all their work was done for them already.

If she does stick around I'm not sure how she could be used. No mention of George Mueller aka Agent Van Alden aka 51 Cards in his Deck.

I loved the Chalky/Al Capone scenes. I thought Richard was going to wind up dead, glad I was wrong.

I thought he was going to be shot in a bad place....

I knew it wasn't going to happen but when Gyp was talking about going west, I kind of hoped they would split never to be seen again.

nice finale. it seemed much longer than a hour.

Got an army? nope, just Richard.
kick ass.

gonna miss Rosetti.
don't see anyone to take his place in the sheer 'holy shit per episode' factor

I agree that next season there won't be a "steals every scene they're in" character, unless Van Alden returns to form. The Nucky/Marge relationship will be a major storyline throughout the season (unfortunately), and I'm curious to see the fallout from him screwing over Rothstein.

The whole NYC storyline is beyond intriguing to me. I hope they focus a lot more on that.

Capone stole the show in the beginning and Harrow fucking killed it.

Just caught up with the entire 4th season in the past week. Different than the other 3 but I thought it was excellent. Once again they delivered on the season finale, once again it leaves the door wide open for many different things to take place in season 5.

I'm still 4 behind. I hope it ends well, I think its been a pretty slow season. Still good, but my least favorite season.

I didn't like it as much either as the last couple seasons (still great television, just by comparison). But the last episode of the season might have been the best of the series. It was RIVETING.

I think season 3 was the weakest personally. I do agree that the season 4 finally was great.

I watched the last three last night. I planned to watch one but kept going so that misty mean I liked them, it really ended strong.

A few thoughts:

Patricia's boobs are huge, they were big when she was younger and thinner but they grew with her.

What was the deal with Daughter sneaking away? As soon as Chalky agreed to go away with her like she wanted she leaves. I wonder if we have seen the last of him.

Man did Havre de Grace look beautiful.

I liked what happened to Gillian, she deserves it all, but not did she give up her story fast.

It was cool what happened to Richard. He chilled under the boardwalk and his face grew back. I would think it was silly but I have read about stuff like that.

Elli being picked up by Van Alden was tremendous.

If anyone likes the actor who plays Rothstein they should run to the video store and rent "A Serious Man" right away, He's great in it. Its a Coen brothers movie and it has boobies in it so it's worth watching.
