He's such an asshole. I love it though. From the previews I thought it was going to be over the top, and it is (his character), but it fits. I am waiting for him to lose his shit.

You're right, he is a bit over the top, but like you said it works. As long as they limit the over the top outbursts and have more of the subtle douchebaggery that we saw in this past episode I think he will continue to be a great character.

It's getting to Game of Thrones level where there are so many good storylines they can go entire episodes without touching upon some. They didn't touch the Chicago storyline with Al Capone/Van Alden or the bizzare Richard/Jimmy's Mom storyline. Last episode there was no mention of Chalky. And the money in the fish bowl storyline is so weird, I need to know more.

I'm always happy when Stephen Root shows up in shows.
('and there was salt on the rim. big grains of salt')

side note, there was an underground restaurant here in Vancouver (unlicensed, a diner set up in his living room) where the owner was like that. You put the money in one of those covered cake dishes. Never ever handed it to him, and he never took it until everyone left. Was kind of funny.

Damn it, no HBO right now and I've missed the last two weeks.

Despite that, I will say I'm surprised that guy got killed, that other guy is really dealing with some inner demons, and I'm amazed that third guy seems to be turning on his business partners.

Nucky is not a happy individual. While I love the change in character he seems to be burning some bridges and distancing himself from his inner circle. Was only a matter of time before Mickey screwed up. Not sure I like that they are humanizing Al Capone, but I love pretty much every scene that guy is in.

We need more Chalky next week.

holy shit, Nucky.

As long as you understand now!

Remind me not to accept a cigarette from Nucky. I am surprised he killed the guy, but the guy was annoying and didnt know when not to be a smart ass.

No, I have a feeling that guy will out live everyone and he would have been the first person I would have killed. He is fun to watch. This was a new character.

It's okay. I ventured into the thread knowing I might come across some spoilers... or maybe I was seeking them out? We may never know. I think a thread about any show is fair game for spoilers and those who want to avoid them can avoid the thread.

Then again, when they see Puckhead's name they may think there is a pic of a half-nake chick, so who can blame them. ;)

Great dialogue in the last episode too. Very minor spoiler, from the hospital award scene at the end:

"Margaret Thompson: Thank you, Dr. Landau. Well, I cannot tell you all how deeply moved I am. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would be the object of so much genuine affection. It makes it all the more difficult for me to say what I'm now going to say. Yes. I do feel it's time to set the record straight. You see, I didn't come here just as an administrator, Dr. Landau; I came to this hospital to settle an old score. Now you all know that my father was a brilliant man; he built this hospital. What you don't know is that to his family, he was an unmerciful tyrant - a absolute dodo bird. He drove my mother, his wife, to - to drink; in fact, she - uh, she she she went riding one time and lost all her teeth. The son Thomas became a recluse, and the oldest daughter - the pretty one, the charming one - became pregnant when she was fifteen years old and was driven out of the house. In fact, she was so terrified that she would, uh, that, uh, that, that, that the baby daughter would bear the stigma of illegitimacy that she, she - she decided to change her name and she contracted a disfiguring disease... after moving to Tangiers, which is where she raised the, the, the little girl as her sister. But her one ambition in life - besides the child's happiness - was to become a nurse, so she returned to the States and joined the staff right here at City Children's. Well, she worked here, she knew she had to speak out wherever she saw injustice and inhumanity. God save us, you do understand that, don't you, Dr. Landau?

Dr. Landau: I never laid a hand on her.

Margaret Thompson: Yes, you did. And she was shunned by all you nurses, too... and by a, what do you call it, what do you call it, a - something like a pariah, to you doctors who found her idealistic and reckless. But she was deeply, deeply, deeply, deeply, deeply, deeply loved by her brother. It was this brother who, on the day of her death, swore to the good Lord above that he would follow in her footsteps, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just owe it all up to her. But on her terms. As a woman. And just as proud to be a woman as she ever was. For I am not Margaret Thompson, the daughter of Dwayne and Alma Thompson. No, I'm not. I'm Thomas Margretson, the recluse brother of my sister Anthea. Thomas Margretson, who has finally vindicated his sister's good name. I am Thomas Margretson. Thomas Margretson. And I'm not mentally ill, but proud, and lucky, and strong enough to be the woman that was the best part of my manhood. The best part of myself. "

That is one wacky hospital!

First half was meh, second half wow. Can't say I sympathize with Margaret at all. Her scenes have been putting me to sleep. Glad to see Van Alden starting to return to crazy. Nucky is starting to become unlikeable to me. Arnold Rothstein was pretty spot on with his assesment.

"Mr Rosetti, are you OK?"
what a freakshow. that's awesome

getting pretty sick of Margaret's holier-than-thou shit.
she's cheated on two people herself so far in the show.

nice twist with the swedish nanny stepping into the mix though.
pretty meh episode until the Rosetti bit at the end
