Here's the thing, Tigers had a great team in 06 as well, however in baseball, more than any other sport, sitting around can absolutely derail a team's momentum. Losing a game or 2 may not be the worst thing ever. If the NL series stretches out you don't want to be waiting around for a week like you did in 06.
