Do you mean the conviction rate? Like only 10% of cases brought to trial end in a guilty verdict. (in which case, man do they have bad prosecutors!) Or do you mean that they bring charges in only 10% of the reported crimes? (in which case, man do they have bad prosecutors!)

The way I understand the statement and it was made by a US prosecutor is that 10% of the cases brought to trial end in a conviction. I know it sounds insane but I swear that's what I heard her say.

I have always been interested in things like this and generally will try and look up the data when I hear something like that. If true, That is a pathetic %. I will check the DOJ numbers for the states and see what it is here but I would think the mid to upper 80's. Just a guess on my part, like 43 said it's very corrupt down there.
