OT: A pretty interesting quasi-hockey thread on the Nebraska board

I was waiting for something like this!!

I was "there" during that GNT and in my opinion harsh words were said towards each other, even some comments that crossed the line personally. Its one thing to swear at somebody, call them an ass fucker or a donkey humper, but if you start to talk shit about a poster's mom, dad, children, religious beliefs or anything other than what team the poster is a fan of, then to me that is going too far. That's how I feel. Some people may not see things that way and think that anything & anyone is far game once you log on to SportsHoopla.

If seeing those comments offended some posters, then you have a right to PM the mod, and also have a right to step away from the computer and not take things so personally. I would vote for some sort of "Block User" option. If you don't like what someone has to say at a certain time, block them!

Other than that...

I take no offense what other non-nhl posters think about this place. I have my own thoughts about the stuff they post and how they act with each other. But that's the way it is. I don't take anything here personal.

and for Christ sakes, some of you need to smoke a joint & chill out.

My thoughts on the whole situation. Let me further clarify that this is not a mod's problem. If I was a mod and was PMd multiple times about an out of hand situation id take action too.

It is the posters who should just let it happen that bother me. ut the two troublesome posters on your ignore list and take them off tomorrow. Or if that is too much for you, ignore it. Scroll down a few posts and continue on.

Its the posters that act like idiots that are the bigger part of the problem in my opinion. If it just comes to a point where posters are just name calling or hurling insults back and forth, especially in a GNT or other topical thread, then I have no problem with it being stopped however the mods see fit.

I do see your point, and that would be a solution as well, but I am not going to fault the posters who wanted to see the idiocy stopped.
