Now that team USA gained control after a rough 1st, I can go back to enjoying the other olympic events

They really should go back to college kids or NBA players 3 years under in the league. Its such a joke watching them kill everyone. U can even see in games where the USA is playing around with the ball. Dont get me wrong I like the Gold medal we get all the time but it is boring to watch.

Losing.

The college kids wouldn't stand a chance. The top talents are in the NBA after 1 college season and you are left with a roster full of good, not great players who have never worked together. That is a recipe for failure.

How entertaining is a series of 30-40 pt blowouts? Closer games are coming, but you could argue that even this year's squad isn't the elite of the NBA; there were a lot of opt-outs.

The thing is, the other countries (especially the host country) don't want a lesser US squad. These NBA stars are a huge draw. $$$

I haven't watched a game yet and I am sure they aren't very entertaining.

Thing is, the country with the best basketball players in the world should win every year. Why tie one hand behind our backs for the sake of entertainment? I would rather watch the pros roll through and earn gold than watch the college kids get abused by foreign pros. Not much entertainment there either.

i dont get how women gymnastics is not on prime time. pointless to watch replay. i know we kicked ass.

3 year players could probably do the job, but not every year. My bet is that USA basketball would pick the wrong guys.

The reason why things have gone better lately is because of the system that allows these guys to practice together for years. The rosters are not simply thrown together a month before the event. It would be very difficult to accomplish that with any type of age restriction.

Seriously though, I don't know why you guys want to level the playing field. While we are at it, why not tell Ledecky she can't swim and tell the Chinese they aren't allowed to take part in Diving. They are too dominant also.
