They're saying a woman blew herself up and the raid may have prevented another imminent attack.

The world is so kind and loving this week! :sigh:

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall sent Trudeau a letter Monday asking him to reconsider the federal government's plan to take in 25,000 Syrian refuges by the end of 2015.

"If even a small number of individuals who wish to do harm to our country are able to enter Canada as a result of a rushed refugee resettlement process, the results could be devastating," Wall's letter stated.

Wait a sec, forget the contents - this article seems to indicate he sent him an actual letter? Was it sent by the Pony Express?

And then there is this:
A guy has been found in a refugee camp in Serbia with a passport nearly identical to the one found on the Stade De France bomber. The one that was checked in through Greece, etc...

That's actually a guy named Al Salami, a Brooklyn man who legally changed his name in the summer of 2001 in support of his cold cuts business and whose travel life has become a living hell ever since.

I understand some people being legitimately worried about letting some refugees in. I do. I also think a lot of it is bigotry. Any of the politicians voicing ideas about letting just the Christians in or any other religious testing should be smacked.
It all just reminds me of when Jewish refugees were not allowed in the country in the late 30s and a lot of them lost their lives because of it.

That shit is wack, but at the same time I lose a lot of sympathy for Muslims because we're going on 16 years of this shit and there are far louder voices from the Muslim communities in the west complaining about bigotry than there are condemning fundamentalism. This is their community that is being used as a weapon by not only scaremongering politicians but the terrorists themselves. Stand up for it. There are 4 million Muslims in Germany, 5.5 million in France, 3.5 million in the UK, 3 million in the US and a million in Canada. These are huge numbers. Make yourselves heard that you abhor this shit as much as we do. It's your reputations being attacked and you should be fucking furious about that. Why aren't there Muslims marching in the streets of Paris or London or NYC against jihadism? If people were using something I believed in so dearly to kill and hurt others I'd be a lot more pissed than these people seem to have been in the past two decades.

Good grief :L

Turkey is gonna have a bad time once Syria is sorted. It's been suspected for a long time that the Turkish government is accepting payments to smuggle people in and out of Syria on ISIS's behalf.

That display is absolutely disgusting.

Albert Einstein was among those refugees.

How long did the crusades last?

And there are a lot of people standing up to it. Directly, in Iraq and Syria. You can tell who they are because they have been beheaded, burned or stoned to death.

Or they are on the run. You know, the ones everyone wants to send back. Where they will be beheaded, burned or stoned to death. I don't think the majority of refugees prefer to live in a tent in Algeria over their home in Syria.

Just because you don't see the demonstrations on the news doesn't mean it isn't happening. What should we expect peaceful Muslims to do? Take up arms and fight the extremists?

It should be mentioned that the vast, vast majority of refugees from Syria are fleeing rebel-controlled or Assad-controlled territory. They're fleeing the Civil War, not ISIS. The areas ISIS controls within Syria are rather lightly populated.

Actually, yes. That is exactly what I would like to see. And I'm sure the NY Times, WaPo, Toronto Star and every other major left-leaning rag would cover such demonstrations were they to occur. I really just don't think the people themselves care all that much.

Fair point on the Civil war, that was the beginning of it, but the numbers of Refugees has steadily increased with the rise of ISIS (Or Daesh as the media is instructing us to refer to them). The thing about a Civil war is most people have a side they agree with. With ISIS, your "sides" are live in a place under Sharia Law where you can be beheaded for talking to a person of the opposite sex, or run.

A lot of people are just running.

As for why the media doesn't report it, there's probably just too much other juiciness to fill their quota right now. I don't know.

ISIS, ISIL, IS and now Daesh (same fucking idiots) actually turned on the non-Assadist rebels and average folk first when they jumped into the fray in the Syrian Civil War. They would fight Assad's troops but most of the genocide was carried out against civilians and rebels that didn't conform to the Islamic State's Wahabbist/Salafist doctrine. That or they didn't immediately accept the IS caliphate as all powerful. :L

So these poor fucking people are being hunted by their government. Then a well-armed (thank you scumbag fucks in Sauda Arabia and UAE) anti-government militia arrives on the scene. Maybe some relief? Nope, these assholes are even worse and start razing villages, murdering and raping along the way.

It's almost impossible to comprehend how shitty things have been for most of these refugees.
