Don't the 14 university presidents make the final call on cancled games or is the decision all the commisioners? :noidea:
Not sure? I know it was President Johnston Gene Smith, and our MD Borchers who canceled today's game due to a spike of positive tests.

If you mentioned and I missed it apologies.....but how do we know other conferences who only beat each other are stronger than the BIG who does the same?

The eye test. We can all watch Miami, A&M, Florida for example and know they're better than Penn State, Maryland, Michigan, and Michigan State.

I blame College Football. Like the NFL, they act like they can't push their playoffs back for a few weeks. Knowing how late the B1G and Pac decided to start the season, they should have pushed back the playoffs a couple weeks at least to give those conferences more room for error since it was a lock some games would be canceled. Should have pushed it back far enough where both conferences can have a 10 week schedule (9 games and 1 bye week).

actually, no, you cannot "know" they are better. It is your opinion which comes with an agenda. The FACT is when all they do is play each other you have no clue who the better conferences are. They will all finish at .500 against each other. IU has only lost to a highly ranked OSU team. Maybe they are good. I've seen Miami highly ranked before only to fall flat. Lousville, FSU, UAB, Pitt, UVA, NC state and Va tech? Latter 3 by 5, 3 and 1? somehow the eye test has you thinking they are all that for beating those teams? I mean, are they better than the teams you mentioned from the BIG? Maybe (and maybe not). But maybe they are not better than Indiana, Iowa, wisconsin and/or N'Western (or others).

And why can't they use the eye test on OSU to maybe conclude they are better than nearly every team?

Of course they should have moved faster. Both should have been back in action the first weekend of October...2nd weekend at the latest

haven't looked at all the scores yet...did SEC prove how great they were again by being better at beating each other than the BIG has been?

I don't even like the SEC but please lets not act like the Ohio State opponents this year are good because you want to justify them making the playoffs even though they played 5 or 6 fewer games than other teams in the convo

Osu is running out of times to get their mandatory minimum games played to qualify for big10 championship. No big 10 champ= no playoffs.

Probably not, but wouldn't put it past Wisky to beat them. PSU has 1 win and UF 1 loss. That's as absurd as asking if Miss. state better than Wisconsin. question again is how do you "know"? You cannot gauge conference strength when all they do is play each other.

I want to hear how great Miami, Fla is again. That was pure comedy.

Because you say so? I mean, it's possible, but they could take an undefeated OSU as a nonchanp if they want.

Outside of Indiana, the combined records of the other teams OSU played this year is 4-13....The committee just used weak schedule as their reason why undefeated BYU was ranked 14th in the first CFB playoffs rankings

So you are saying they will put a team with 5 games played and no conference playoffs apperance in the playoffs?

something tells me if they played MD and Illinois and stomped them like they would have you would still be crying about their inclusion. I guess not allowed to use eye test for them?

Do I want them to make CFP? Of course. But I could understand if they were left out having played a lot fewer games. But it's absurd to think you know how good other conferences/teams are when all they do is play each other. You actually made the comment Miami was better than the other BIG teams and they have not beaten anyone of substance. Own it.

First, here's a flash...season is not over. They might still play and perhaps beat a solid MSU team and then maybe Wisky or N'Western. Second, are we not allowed to use eye test when it comes to OSU (you are the one who said use eye test earlier)? are you betting against them if they played the other contenders for the CFP not named Bama or Clemson?

Can we talk about your love for Miami, Fla again?

5? I'd be shocked if they did. But OSU looks like they will play a minimum of 6 and maybe 7.

And if they were left out with only 6-7 I'd be disappointed and would think they left out one of the "very best 4".....but they could justify it. Only issue is with those who think they could not justify OSU being included at 6-0 or 7-0 if goal is still "very best 4 teams".
