Tapey
Hooplas biggest Cardinals homer.
Mark July 2nd as a day in a season where Zunino has more walk than strikeouts, lol.
Looked like he slipped off to me.BTW, anyone think De Ho was safe at 2nd? Looked to me his momentum was taking him off anyways... Yeah, 2B did kind of push his foot but not enough imo to push it off completely...
Still wonder how much of a real chance he's going to have to keep any real rhythm going if he's only going to play a couple of times a week. But you can't deny his return has been encouraging for sure.Zunino, tonight anyway, has shown restraint on pitches he would have swung at in years past. I know it's only one game, but still, good to see.

Can't imagine Servais doing that very quickly if at all. Iannetta is their guy and has a bit more known track record even if Zunino has a hell of an upside potential.I hope he takes this chance and runs with it. After tonight, how do you put him on the bench tomorrow? And if he hits again tomorrow, then what? We'll see what happens I guess, but I would love to see Zunino take the starter job from Iannetta and not look back.

I'm only disappointed he didn't take one for the team at least once tonight.Don't forget, more HR than strikeouts, as well
Are we allowed to say it's a good homestand yet?Nice win... 6-2 so far on the this home stand... I'll take it...
I guess I mostly agree, but we've really been 2 different teams through 81 games. And to me, the main difference in the two teams we've seen is health. I think it's no coincidence that when Martin & Marte went down and pitchers got hurt around the 50 game mark, the next few weeks were really rough. Now the lineup is healthy and pitching is back to what it was, and the team we've seen lately is starting to resemble the one from April & May.Tonight was officially the half way point, and IMO the proper sample size of who we are as a team. With that being said, our success lands squarely on our starting pitching. As long as we get six solid innings from our starters we have the bullpen to seal the deal. Anything less and our bullpen will implode, period! For now, we are back on track and can hopefully pull off a massive sweep heading back on the road for a couple of winnable series before the break. I've said all along that we need to at least hover around .500 by the break to even be considered for the playoffs, and it looks like we may even exceed that expectation. Come on fellas, finish strong!!!
Hopefully when the king gets back and healthy he lights the world on fire.I guess I mostly agree, but we've really been 2 different teams through 81 games.
