From Heyman at SI -

Seattle Mariners

One rival said he questions whether rookie manager Scott Servais knew what to do to stop their losing slide before it was too late. That may not be fair, but their fine start is all but gone now … Ketel Marte and Leonys Martin are back, but the Mariners season seemed to slip away when they went down, undermining the defense … No sign of a return for King Felix, so expect him to be out until after the All-Star break, a possibility reported here first … Mike Zunino is doing well in the minors. While he was rushed, he’s going to be a very good player.
only so much servais could do to stop the m's from sucking when decimated by injury right when they started playing much better teams more consistently.

it's the first year for a gm and manager dealing with the unmitigated organizational disaster jack z and nintendo left in their wake.

heyman couldn't possibly give less of a shit about baseball west of the rockies, so i don't care what he says to his idiot followers in his token bi-monthly paragraphs devoted to teams like ours.

zunino is going to be an everyday player for teams for a long time, and it's been more than a little frustrating seeing idiots on here slam him with misdirected anger. so heyman got one thing right, and it wasn't really very bold on his part, surprise. zunino is just now at a point where any competent organization would've just called him up for the first time.

LeBlanc's style reminds me a bit of Moyer. Lots of different speeds, moving around the zone, follow up a slow pitch with an even slower one if you didn't hit it.

yeah... It's been nice to see him go 6+ in two straight outings... Walker/Leblanc going 6 plus B2B helps our bullpen arms... Nice to see them pitching well...

I was sorta surprised to see him out last night after only 81 pitches though. I thought he surely could've gone one more inning, though it was definitely effective to bring in a hard thrower in Montgomery after they saw Moyer Jr for 6 innings.

It wasn't Heyman saying it, just reporting it.

I also remember how everyone defended Lloyd his first year. That ended fast.

How can so many baseball fans be so ignorant about the catching position? It's not just here. It's pervasive.

I too love to ambiguously insult most of baseball fans :)

Paxson going strong... Let's wait till the 4th and 5th to see how he does... Hopefully he can go 6 strong tonight... Up 5-0... Great start into the 3rd... Nice to see Z get a dinger in his first AB...

Awesome to see Zunino hit a home run. I'd love to see him take over as the starting catcher. Cruz and Smith both crushed their home runs as well. Nice start to this one.

I like to think that June was just the Mariners giving the rest of the league handicap

Can we just play the O's one series a week for the rest of the season?
