Hey GatorDru,

Did you know in the long history of Tennessee football no one has given the Vols a worse beating in Knoxville than Oregon? Ever. 35 points if Im not mistaking.

Also Oregon hung with Scam Newton and the most dominant team Auburn in the SEC tile run era. Auburn STEAM ROLLED the SEC and Oregon lost by only 3 and held them to only 22 points.

Nice try BUT...Auburn did not steamroll the SEC. They pulled about 5 games out of their ass late in the 4th quarter. Their first SEC game against Miss ST took a dropped pass to a wide open receiver late in the game for them to hold on 17-14. It took 6 turnovers by South Carolina including one late to beat South Carolina in their second SEC game 35-27. In between Clemson dropped a pass that would have won the game. About a 5 yard pass too. Auburn won in OT 27-24. In their third SEC game they scored on their last drive to beat Kentucky 37-34. Barely beat LSU 24-17. Alabama had them 24 to nothing and it should have been 40 something to zip but everything went Auburn's way to hang in there. I give them credit for coming back but it was a magical year with the breaks! They beat Bama by one.

Still think Auburn STEAMROLLED the SEC and y'all losing by 3 proved anything? They could have lost their first four games (3 SEC games) and their last one. I have always said Auburn won the NC but was a hair from being a 7-5 regular season team! Both teams in that game played not to lose more than to win!

As for UT don't pretend it was an ass whipping. UT was driving deep in Oregon's territory to tie the game ,with 3 minutes to go in the third quarter, and Oregon had a pick 6. Game got away at that time. UT had controlled the entire game to that point. Below is Alabama's last 6 games with UT. Not exactly a juggernaut lately!

Who played 6 ranked teams in conference?
Alabama played 3 in the regular season
LSU 3
A&M 4
Ole Miss 4
Ark 3
Aub 4
Miss St 3
UGA 2
SC 3
Fl 4
Tenn 5
Vandy 3
Missouri 5
Kent 4

Why does the entire year not count? That's ridiculous! Alabama played 4 ranked opponents. Not counting an SEC championship game that is played every year and matches east against west is ridiculous! Part of having that game in your conference, and as long as the SEC has had it, is a big part of the reason it is a tough ass conference to play in. When it goes to 9 games and it will it's going to be tougher!

The rank they were when you played them means nothing. That's just cherry picking favorable data.
Maybe, but when you throw in FSU and Louisville that would be 8 at time of playing and 4 that finished in the top 10....has anybody ever done that before ???

Actually I only counted the teams ranking at time of playing.

However it is one or the other. counted it when played or count it at the end. mixing is cherry picking favorable as well.

Regular season is what regular season is. Not counting bowls not counting conference championship game these games are not part of the regular season. and are not even part of any requirement to be played. Bowls are basically exhibitions and conference championship games can be played but are in no way requirements to the season.

Oregon was up 20-13 as they never got in to the Oregon 25. that was mid third not late. at that point Oregon went up 27-13 with over 10 minutes left Oregon pulled the starters.

No shit....But it just goes to show you how tough of a schedule UF played last year.....
The scary part is we may play a total of 10, yes I said 10 ranked teams in 2013.....

IMO, the only one that matters is the ranking at the end of the year. Teams often get hyped up by the media right before big games to make them seem more significant, many teams delay their harder games until the end of the schedule, etc.

Miss St was ranked like #15 when we played them last year. They were undefeated at the time. No way in the world was Miss St really a #15 team and their end of the year rankings are much much more accurate. They finished 8-5, losing 5 of their last 6 games from that point on.

There was 6:27 left when he took the pick 6- 76 yards. Mamba said an ass whipping and it was a beating but it was not physical which is what the discussion was about.

UT controlled the first half and should have had a good lead but blown opportunities. It took Oregon kicking a 42 yard field goal with 2:36 to make it 13-6 UT. Then they scored on a 27 yard pass with 1:04 left to tie it at half 13-13. The interception return changed the game entirely.

Oregon also had a 72 yard TD run and a 80 yard punt return. That's 21 points from beyond 70 yards. That's not exactly driving it up and down the field against a bad UT team, now is it?

Nobody is doing this. It's revolutionary and crucial to the progression of the sport.

The big time universities will be doing this in a couple years, but Nebraska is the tip of the spear.

Oregon beat Tennessee 48-13. 35 points on @ Tennessee
LSU, a year later beat Oregon 40-27. 13 points in what was pretty much a home game for LSU.

How is that destroyed or worse? That same year LSU beat Florida 41-11 If oregons 13 point loss was being destroyed what was that?

One of the primary, if not THEE primary purposes of the new performance lab that sits in the new 55 million dollar expansion at Nebraska is to study concussions and prevent further injury to Nebraska athletes and potentially revolutionize the diagnosis of concussions.

Possibly saving the sport of football.

The problem with that though is that a team can also get beefed up with early wins and maintain a ranking to the end of the season.
Oregon State started 6-0 and went 3-3 in their last 6 going LWLWLW still finished ranked.
Texas lost last 2 finished ranked

Football is 3 parts. Offense Defense and Special Teams. Oregon won all three.

Texas lost last 2 finished ranked

I had them both ranked and think they deserved it.

I had Oregon St #20. Aside from the loss to Washington, 2 of those losses were to what I had as top10 teams in Oregon and Stanford(I had them #6 and #5). 9-4 is not a bad record in terms of being ranked in the top25.

Texas I had barely in the top25 at the end of the year @ #24. And they only got to that point because of the win over Oregon St. Also a 9-4 team.

And my rankings are figured up fresh every week, previous week rankings mean nothing so there was no carry over at all for either of those rankings.

9-4 teams with decent strength of schedule is right there at the 20-25 range for basically all polls. There is large gaps between top5 teams, top10 teams, etc. Oregon was miles ahead of Oregon St, but that gap is normal from a top5/10 team to 20-25 ranked teams.

Small little snippet of the "Nebraska Experience" room where they take recruits and people on tours of the stadium.

Parts of the tiles spin out and Heisman trophy's etc. come out of the walls.

Overboard.
