College football is supposed to be about football. Play on the field. X's and O's. Cheerleaders and coeds half dressed and half out of their minds. And all that goes with it. Most of us don't feel a fashion show is part of what that experience is meant to be.

I am among those that like the classic uniforms with an odd alternate here and there to shake things up for the kids, and give the schools chances to sell more merchandise with those alternatives. Oregon/Nike has perverted that to extreme levels and made a farce of it.

In all honesty, I don't mind the Oregon uni's that much. Hell, if nothing else, they provide some pretty good fodder to bust on Ducks fans about.

As a USC fan, I'm more of a traditionalist. I like the "classic/iconic" look that changes very little, if at all. I think most fans of schools like USC probably feel the same way.

To me, Oregons unis (and some of the teams that have followed suit) are kind of the uniform version Boise's blue field (which I also kind of like).

It's something that's different and gets them noticed by players that they otherwise may not have a shot at.

In short, if they feel it helps them get the kinds of kids that can make them competitive...more power to them.

But I'm still gonna have some fun at their expense. lol

Yeah, think I was pretty clear in saying that.

It is also clear I'm not alone. Fans of teams that don't even get that much into one off alternates like Bama tend to also think the newer trends are a farce.

There are plenty of alternate/changed UW uniforms I couldn't stand, but at the end of the day I don't focus on the rags, I focus on the football. So many of your fans focus on 'swag' even when they were winning. Sorry if I, and quite a few others up here, find it silly and funny as well as ironic now that the team sucks.
