I have a question in regards to the goal. It's been my understanding that the refs blow the play dead when they lose sight of the puck. Now on the goal the ref had no clue where the puck was, and he didn't even realize it was in until a second or two after it crossed the line.

So my question is should he have blown the whistle or are the refs suppose to give it a few seconds after the lose sight to blow it dead?

as I understand it: wording of rule is 'lose sight of puck'; intent of rule is 'think puck is frozen'

on that play, the puck was out in the scramble, so you gotta assume the ref wouldn't have thought it was frozen.
Torres pushed it back in, Couture tried to sweep it back out with his glove, and I think it bounced off on Niemi's pad and back in.
