Giordano got a star and he played well, but I thought Kris Russell had a strong game for Calgary tonight.

I thought hiller was quite strong for the Flames and Miller was just solid enough and able to make the late saves when it mattered.

good start by both teams. both will get slaughtered playing like that against the big boys however

There are certainly more than a few prominent people around town who believe the Canucks may get some breaks after cutting ties with Gilly and bringing in NHL head office royalty in the Lord.

And they got all the calls Wednesday. Nothing bigger than than a late slash which was missed.

Nothing weirder than a too many men penalty that was CALLED and then WITHDRAWN.

And it happened after a discussion with the Sedins. Maybe there is something to this. The oddest part of it all was the fact the refs got it right.

This never happens. OK, almost never.

But, before you get too carried away, that review still took ridiculously long to call THIS a goal:

This game set the tone for the Canucks season this year.

The Sedin goal will go down as one of the greatest franchise turnaround moments in history along with Burrows huge hit on Wideman. Reminds me of the 49ers first year with Harbaugh when they went 13-3
