Last meeting: 4/10/13 @ Calgary, Canucks won 4-1

Doob's analysis:
Sort of a hard game to call here. Going into this season, I thought the Flames would be the favorites to get the 1st overall pick, but they have actually looked pretty good against the Capitals & Blue Jackets. Canucks looked horrible against the Sharks, but turned it around nicely against the Oilers. I'm going to pick the Flames to win this one, mainly because the Canucks played last night, I think they'll go with their backup, and because the game is at Calgary. Doob's prediction: Flames win 4-3.

Lack will probably get the start, though Lou didn't really break a sweat in last night's game
Weber is the Dman they used on the 4th line over Alberts though. Alberts doesnt have the footspeed to forecheck.

Nucks should be okay for energy, as the edm game looked more fun that grueling.
The 4th line even got6 minutes!

I got it from Dailyfaceoff. I was wondering abotu Cannata over Lack. Either way tho, I think playing their backup gives the Flames a slight edge when it comes to goaltending tonight.

Technically flames have two backups so it evens out :D

I'll take Canucks tonight 3-2

Yeah that is technically true. I just think MacDonald is better than Ramo. Canucks are probably the better team overall, I just think the Flames have an opening here.

I hope the Canucks got all the scoring out of their system last night.

I doubt the Flames will be quite as disinterested as the cOilers were last night.
give the Nucks full credit for pushing, but Edm was pretty damned passive

Poor Oilers, all that talent but they're still the softest team in the league.

What an exciting win. Props to the Canucks , Torts seems to have embraced offense since he moved to Vancouver. Also props to the Flames , every game played by the Flames this season has been a thrill to watch. The Doobster had very low expectations for these teams going into this season but I must say I really like what I'm seeing so far from both teams so far.

congrats to Lack on win #1 in game #1
pretty concerning that the flames were able win three straight faceoffs clean in the final minute.

Joey Mac made a couple of dandy save in the 3rd.

Congrats to the Canucks, didn't see much of the game (family commitments), but happy at least the Flames were able to salvage a point after blowing a two goal lead.

4 points after 3 games in 4 nights, not a bad start to the season.

I agree, Flames have looked good this season. They're for sure exceeding my expectations for them so far.

Yep and controlled the play and applied the pressure the whole last 1:25
